Having finally secured a title sponsor, it seems all systems are a go for the inaugural Munga mountain bike race.
Come Wednesday, 2 December 12h00, the almost 50 riders will set off from the Bloemfontein Windmill Casino and Hotel, to see who can reach the finish first. Sponsored by PwC, riders will have five days to brave the mid-summer Karoo temps and reach the finish at Diemersfontein Wine Farm. Along the route, five Karoo towns will serve as race villages where riders can elect to eat and sleep if they want to. But the clock runs non-stop leaving riders with the strategic dilemma of what to do. Should they sleep and for how long, or should they ride on through the night?
