Q & A » Interview: Anna Wood

She's a Bootcamp insructor, life coach, Redo You Conference organiser and fitness competitior. How does Anna Wood manage to fit this all into one day? We catch up with this incredible fitness inspiration.

Q: What's the biggest lesson you learnt from 2014?

I am an extremely positive person, but in 2014 I had a big hip operation that influenced me a lot. I became depressed and felt so sorry for myself. It made me realise that your thoughts affect everything in your life. I changed my way of thinking and achieved victory!

Q: What's planned for 2015?

I have been focusing on my Redo You Women’s conference to inspire and motivate women to change their lifestyle and especially the way they see and think about themselves. I am also doing many motivational talks about self-esteem, weight loss and many other topics. My passion is to truly motivate women.

Q: Where and when will you be competing this year?

I have missed the competitive stage so much and have decided to do so again this year. My return date is a secret – so watch this space!

Q: Who are you sponsored by?

I am truly blessed to be an ambassador for the best companies in the industry:
USN
Nimue skin
Vegeworth
Follicle Hair Salon
Beauty Beyond Belief salon
NLP Life Coach training academy

Q: What are you top training and nutritional tips?

A few top tips that I give my clients:
Never skip breakfast, eat 5-6 small balanced meals per day, add supplements to your diet and drink two liters of water a day.
Stop weighing yourself. Do both cardio and weight training, and don’t be scared you wont build “man muscles” from weight training. Make sure to change your program on a regular basis to keep challenging your body.

Q: How did you get into the fitness industry?

I entered the USN Face of Fitness competition in 2010. I didn’t win but decided that I was going to make it happen for myself. From there I entered other bikini competitions and started to build my personal brand.

Q: What's a day like in the life of Anna?

Every day is different, on Mondays I get up at 4.40am to get ready for my 5.30am Bootcamp session. I have to start my day with a cup of coffee and breakfast. After Bootcamp I’m off to the gym for a quick 45 minute session and then I'm ready to teach another Bootcamp session at 8am. After that I'll see clients for some life coaching sessions and in the afternoon it’s time to hit the CrossFit box – my favorite place to be! After CrossFit I teach another Bootcamp class. In the evenings I prepare dinner and extra food for the next day to make sure I don’t skip a meal. Before I go to bed I always have a USN Casein protein with a little bit of yogurt (one of my small addictions).

Q: What kind of training do you do?

I do a bit of everything! I am doing CrossFit and resistance training at the moment. I'm absolutely in love with CrossFit, because it challenges me on so many levels. I have also started swimming twice a week.

Q: What do you do in your free time?

In my free time I love to visit Follicle hair salon for some weekly TLC and the best is always spending time with my hubby by going to a restaurant. I just love eating out. Some tips to eating healthy
